Formal letter Format Class 10

The format of a formal letter typically includes:

1. Sender’s address: in this includes your full name, address, and Place this at the top of the letter, aligned to the right.

2. Date: Add the current date, month and year below your address, aligned to the left.

3. Recipient’s address: Add the name and address of the person or organization you are writing to, below the date, aligned to the left.

4. Salutation: Begin your letter with a formal greeting such as “Dear Mr./Ms./Dr. Last Name,” followed by a colon.

5. Body: The body of your letter should be organized into paragraphs, with each paragraph covering a different point. Begin with an introduction that explains the purpose of your letter, followed by the main content, and conclude with a summary or conclusion.

There should be three para in the body of letter , That is :-

i. Introduction 1-2 lines_______ para I

ii. Content 6-7 lines______ para II

iii. Complimentary close 1-2 lines______ para III.

6. Closing: End your letter with a formal closing, such as “Sincerely” or “Yours faithfully,” followed by a comma.

7. Signature: Sign your name below the closing, and include your typed name and any relevant professional titles or designations.

8. Enclosures: If you are including any documents with your letter, list them below your signature with a brief description of each.
